What to consider before renting a car

Always having a vehicle has its comforts and advantages and in the case of Mexico City, distances can be long and also close to the city, there are many places that are worth knowing and having a car particular might be a good idea.

However, you should bear in mind that in certain time slots and mainly in the ring roads and great arteries of Mexico City, traffic is usually chaotic. Therefore, you should avoid the opening hours of the day (7 to 10 am) and the closing of the business day (4 to 7 pm), and being the weekends, night hours and holidays, the most opportune times to drive.

In addition to your valid and current driver's license (whether national or international), hire the vehicle with full insurance, with an authorized agency and present at the airport, have a GPS at hand (if the vehicle does not include a satellite navigator) , respect all traffic signs, speed limits and do not drink alcohol if you are going to drive. In downtown areas, try to find private parking lots for safety and to avoid unexpected fines.

Car rental agencies can be found in the national and international ambulatory of Terminal 1 and in the international arrivals area, near the banks of Terminal 2.
